The Rhode Island flag consists of the White Flag of Commonwealth, with a banner, an anchor, and a star field. The anchor is a symbol of hope, which is also expressed blatantly on the banner. The star field, like most American ones, is in the top corner and has a star for each of the Thirteen Colonies.
